If You’re Looking For Legal Advice, Here’s How We Can Help You

Whether you’re looking to move home, manage an investment property portfolio, write your Will, set up a Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) or trust, or would like specialist advice on inheritance and succession planning, our team is here to help you. Here’s a reminder of our main services, and how we can help you plan and achieve your goals.

Our legal practice, Woolley, Beardsleys and Bosworth, has been established for over 280 years and is one of the UK’s oldest practicing law firms. It’s been associated with Chesterton House since 2017 when we acquired the practice as part of our goal to develop a multi-disciplinary service to our clients.

We’ve expanded our areas of expertise over the years and our team work hard to understand every client’s values, needs and goals – that’s why we tailor our services to fit your individual circumstances.

Our Legal Team work hard to clarify the issues you face by providing sound and practical legal advice, all with the aim of protecting yours and your family’s future.

Here’s how we can help you achieve your goals.

Conveyancing

We’re used to helping our clients buy and sell houses, change the ownership, remortgage or move assets into trusts, companies or other structures. We specialise in both residential and commercial property conveyancing and offer a bespoke service depending on your requirements.

Our conveyancing property team provides a wealth of experience whilst offering a smooth and professional service with a wide range of property transactions, from residential sales and purchases to commercial property and leases.

We will guide you through each aspect of your transaction and provide you with regular updates, whilst assisting you with any queries you might have. Our aim is to keep communication open and reduce any stress during your move. You will always deal with a specific person who will be responsible for your transaction, and our professional team are all committed to helping all of our clients through the process of buying or selling a property as efficiently as we can.

If you haven’t made a Will, who receives what, how much, and on what terms is determined by a set of rules, not your wishes. So, things may not turn out as you would have wanted, and as bereavement is a difficult time for those involved, what’s required is clear and sympathetic advice whilst our expert guidance ensures that when the inevitable happens, the distribution of your assets or transfer of property takes place with smooth efficiency.

For some people a simple Will is all that they need to set their mind at rest, but if your affairs are more complex then it might be appropriate to dig a little deeper to ensure that your plans are fulfilled. Getting clarity about who should inherit isn’t always easy, and if you own property or business assets you might be concerned about the readiness of your family to deal with the receipt of significant wealth. We can guide you through this process and suggest how to bring people together so that the plans you make on paper come to fruition in real life.

If you are ever in a situation where you can’t manage your affairs yourself, you’ll be pleased that you planned ahead by arranging a Lasting Power of Attorney. Whilst we often think of mental incapacity as a problem affecting the elderly, it’s something that can happen to us at any age. A stroke, accident or serious illness can leave us unprotected and vulnerable, and knowing that someone we trust is able to look after our affairs and ensure that our health and welfare are properly managed, is a great comfort.

Arranging your LPA is just as important as putting proper insurances in place to protect you against unexpected illness, and we can guide you through the process.

Trusts are a secure way of having control over, and allocating money to someone, both during your lifetime and long after you’ve passed away. Trusts can help you protect your assets, stay flexible, minimise tax and avoid probate. We use our expertise and combined services to ensure that our clients are getting the most out of their trust, that their money is soundly invested, and that they are meeting the complex requirements of ever-changing rules and legislation.

If it’s appropriate, we’ll work together with our Financial Planning and Accountancy teams to make sure that you get the right advice. That’s the benefit of the ‘multi-disciplinary’ approach we mentioned earlier, and it’s something we are uniquely placed to provide.

If you want plain-speaking advice to arrange your estate for the future so you can reduce the impact of Inheritance Tax and ensure your assets end up where you intended, we can help. Maybe you need to sort out a deceased relative’s estate yourself by arranging to obtain a Grant of Probate, or deal with cataloging and valuing assets, and making sense of complex Trusts or other legal arrangements. Our Legal team work with our Financial Planners and Accountants to provide effective inheritance tax strategies to our clients, and to manage estates and probates efficiently.

Here at Woolley, Beardsleys and Bosworth LLP, our clients have trusted us for decades to help them grow, manage, and protect their wealth. We find out what is important to you in order to provide you with a service that will help you achieve your current and future financial goals. If your would like more information about any of our services mentioned and you think you could benefit from legal advice, you can get in touch with us here or you can learn more at https://www.chestertonhouse.co.uk/woolley-beardsleys-and-bosworth
