If You’re Looking for Great Legal Advice, Take This STEP

If you were facing major surgery, you would want to know that your surgeon was well qualified. You would expect that before they were allowed to operate on you they had been trained to the highest level and had the credentials to prove it.

When it comes to legal advice, the implications of getting it wrong can be equally damaging. Yet every day people take complex advice from practitioners with minimal training and very little experience. Writing your Will, arranging a family trust, or dealing with someone’s estate are hugely complicated matters that can backfire if they aren’t done correctly.

So how do you know that the person giving you legal advice is properly qualified?

One way is to make sure that your legal adviser is STEP qualified. The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners is a global professional body that sets standards, trains and educates its members, and upholds those standards in this important area of law.

Full members are known as ‘TEPs’, short for Trust and Estate Practitioners, and they are internationally recognised as experts in their field.

Delivering a high level of expertise is extremely important to us at Woolley, Beardsleys & Bosworth. That’s why we are delighted to announce that we have been awarded the accreditation of STEP Employer Partner.

This endorsement recognises our dedication to continuous learning and to developing the technical expertise of our people. The STEP Employer Partnership Programme is open to all employers of STEP students and members globally, to showcase that the employer values and invests in their people and celebrate their success as an organisation.

The application process is in-depth; requiring a comprehensive learning and development policy to be in place and a thorough explanation of why we deserve to be awarded the accreditation.

Jen Couchman TEP, Managing Partner at WBB, is delighted to have gained this badge of expertise. She said, “I am really pleased to achieve this as it serves to demonstrate not only our commitment to delivering great advice to our clients, but also the quality of our training and practice standards in developing and maintaining knowledge and professionalism across our whole team.

“Currently very few solicitor firms are accredited other than the large private client firms, so as a smaller practice it puts us in very good company. This accreditation will be a great way of reassuring Clients about the standard of service they’ll be getting from the Team here at WBB. We believe it sets us apart and is a real stamp of approval we can be proud of, as well as giving us access to a lot of knowledge sharing and resources as well.”

If you are looking for effective and knowledgeable advice about Wills, Trusts, Powers of Attorney, and Deputyships or Inheritance Tax mitigation then you can be confident that our Team have the expertise to help you.

And they have the credentials to prove it.
